This Ikelite Underwater Housing with Nikon COOLPIX L30 Digital Camera Kit from Alberta Adventure Divers bundles an Ikelite waterproof enclosure with the Nikon COOLPIX L30 point-and-shoot camera it accommodates, enabling you to shoot beneath the surface to a maximum depth of 200'. The housing's large, ergonomic mechanical controls, including push-buttons and a knurled dial, afford access to all camera functions.

The use of the camera's built-in flash is enabled, and the housing includes a diffuser to soften the light of the flash and a deflector to redirect it towards an optional external strobe. Such a strobe can be triggered as a wireless slave unit by the firing of the built-in flash, or up to 2 strobes can be fired in a wired configuration via the dual fiber-optic ports, which accept optional Ikelite, Sea & Sea or Olympus type fiber-optic cables. Built for durability, the housing is made from clear, corrosion-resistant polycarbonate. It also has a built-in, 3.0" flat glass lens port with 67mm diameter threads.

The camera is also equipped with a 3.0", 230k-dot LCD monitor. The AF35’s built-in sensor transmits data from the camera’s flash to the AF35 strobe, varying the strobe’s power automatically to replicate TTL exposure. The AF35 sensor is positioned to provide the most reliable strobe triggering possible without exposed cables which require maintenance and can tangle or break.

Two large, easy to read dials provide all of the settings necessary for control of the flash system. The AF35 strobe rear dial features OFF, Auto (TTL) plus six Manual Power settings. The AF35 sensor rear dial provides simple plus/minus EV exposure compensation in the Auto (TTL) mode. The system’s comfortable rubberized grip and neutral buoyancy make it a pleasurable addition to any housing. A flexible arm system allows quick repositioning of the strobe angle and adds no weight to the system.

A simple battery door is easy to remove and replace and provides a clear view of the o-ring seal. The strobe’s battery compartment is independently sealed from the electronics preventing further damage in the event of a flood.
