Twin Lake - another cool Alberta dive site

Twin Lakes is home base for our Red Deer operation! 
Covid update: the campsite and lake is opening on June 5: respect social distancing requirements and dive safety.

Directions:
From Wetaskiwin (Hwy 2) travel West on Highway 13 for 30 miles to Twin Lakes Park, turn left (South) onto Park access road.  The Twin Lakes sign is easy to miss - watch closely!

From Rimbey, travel North on Hwy 20 to Hwy 13, turn right (East) on Hwy 13, travel approx. 2 miles East to Twin Lakes access, turn South to Park.   Watch for the small sign!

From Drayton Valley, travel South on Hwy 22 to Hwy 13, turn left, travel East on Hwy 13 past Winfield (2 miles) to Twin Lakes Park sign, turn South into Park.

Scuba Diving Hazards and Facilities at Twin Lake

  1. Silt bottom / Reduced visibility: Maintain close buddy contact at all times.
  2. Outhouse style washrooms
  3. Local facilities - Twin Lakes wing divers has an access dock and benches for setting up diver gear.
  4. Emergencies - call 911 - nearest hospital is Westaskwin (6910 - 47 St)
  5. Nearest hyperbaric chamber: Edmonton at Misericordia Community Hospital (780) 970-5611. For all dive health questions, whether emergency or not: call DAN: 1-919-684-432

Directions to Underwater site:

Descend at dock, swim straight South to find UW map of course at 15 ft.
or
Swim West 15-25 minutes to find cliffs on North side of lake between 30 - 60 ft.
