Genesis React Pro Computer

This simple data cruncher has been in the pipeline for years, but Genesis recently gave it a technical facelift. The React Pro now offers a Deep Stop Reminder that conforms to contemporary theories recommending deep stops for dives exceeding 80 feet. Gone is the intuitive green-yellow-red color bar scheme that was so effective on earlier models; color ticks are still used on a nice 270-degree N2 loading bar, but they’re miniscule and hard to see. Luckily, other data is presented in big, bold digits. You get three data screens in dive mode. Dividing the data makes each screen uncluttered and simple to read, but does require constantly switching from screen to screen to access dive data.

Bottom Line

This is a time-tested data cruncher with some new features. It leans liberal and offers no personal-safety-margin settings. However, once you get used to the screen you can increase your safety margin simply by backing off on the pixel graphs.
